Makha Bucha Day Candlelight Procession
Preserving Buddhist Traditions at Wat Sutthawas
On the occasion of Makha Bucha Day 2026, Ms. Jiranuch Boonsin, Director of Wat Sutthawas School, assigned teachers of Grade 7 (Matthayom 1) to lead students in participating in Buddhist activities at Wat Sutthawas.
The activity aimed to encourage students to reflect on the virtues of the Triple Gem (Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha) and to help preserve Thailand’s important Buddhist traditions.
During the event, students participated in chanting, listening to Dhamma teachings from the monks, and learning about the significance of Makha Bucha Day (the Fourfold Assembly Day).
Students also joined the candlelight procession (Wian Tian) around the temple’s ordination hall as a way to purify the mind and cultivate moral values and ethics among youth.
This activity is part of the school’s learning approach that emphasizes life skills, moral development, and knowledge guided by Buddhist values, reflecting the unique identity of Wat Sutthawas School.
